Saltburn Retired Men's Group

This week Ged and Paul from the Friends with the help of Roy and the backing of Dave gave a talk to the Saltburn Retired Men’s Group at the Methodist Church. This was well received by the audience and many questions were asked at the end of the session. The Warrenby Disaster (1895) was explored in depth, this interest was sparked by a headstone in our cemetery to Charles Edward Dooley who died in the disaster together with many local men. We paid for the headstone to be restored with the sale of the Aces High book as we believe it was the only one erected to any of the men who died in the disaster. This is a marker that will go on for years being considered important in local history.
