Monday we were at the 25 K Club fundraising, Wendy was trying out a new game that she has been developing, this went well and people enjoyed playing it.
Soo had made a new batch of fold up bags with different designs only 50p each. What a bargain. Thanks to all who supported the stall.
At this event we met a lady who is now our newest volunteer, she came bright and breezy the following day to join the gardening group. She had wanted to join the group for some time. Next week she will bring her friend. We like new people joining the group as they give a different view and new ideas and skills to take our work forward. We welcome them both.
Tuesday was a windy day however it did not stop the work. Many areas were cared for. The rain had encouraged the weeds to sprout up. Roses were pruned, thistles and weeds removed, flowers were dead headed, shrubs were trimmed
The cemetery was tidied up and swept up after all the wind.
Sadly a very large limb had come off a cherry tree and we are not sure if the tree will have to come down or whether it can be saved. The wind looked as though it had torn into it and brought down lots of branches and twigs.
Next Saturday August the 16th 10-2pm we will be at the Shoreline Nursing Home 10am-2pm. We are having a stall with a prize every time and a lot of bric a brac indoor plants at very reasonable prices. Please support the nursing home and the cemetery if you can.
The event is advertised on our Facebook page forcem.org.uk
