This week we have been concentrating on security and safety in the cemetery which is important to all. We invited our local PCSO to the cemetery to talk about the issues concerning us. Here we are at our sundial area having a rare opportunity to talk over the issues. There are things that we all can do to improve safety. Thanks to Faye PCSO, to Council Officers, to Mary, West dyke Councillor, to Ged, Paul and Dot from the Friends. Some issues are sorted and some we can work on.
We had nearly a full team out working in the sunshine today 19 of us We missed Kay but she will be back in a few weeks. Lots of work completed John strimmed around the Baby Memorial as we had left it a long time and then the weather was too wet to do it. Kath was sorting out the clematis and climbing roses behind the memorial. Fiona’s rusted robin is quite happy sitting on the trellis and we are looking for some metal robins to keep him company. After all when a robin appears a loved one is near.
Lots of work carried out in the grave spaces toward the Snowdrop Cremation Area. Thanks to Mick, Marcy, Fiona, and the two lads from the Mormon Church, thanks to all. Trevor and Sandra were working with the roses in the new section since they came on board our roses are looking better. Dot and Kath with the help of Anth another 20 thistles removed from the cottage garden.
Ian has put up a sign to remind people that the cottage garden is a bed we are working on and not to put rubbish here.
Julie, Barbara, Angie and Wendy are working on their areas and Anth has been cleaning everything in sight with his new wand. Ged and Ian have been sweeping paths. Well done everyone you are a brilliant team.
